Nancy Scoville Sartor was interviewed for the Foothills Quilt Trail project to preserve the work of quilters in Rowan County, Kentucky. It is part of a wider project to place quilt squares on barns in Rowan County to beautify the county and promote tourism. The project was funded by a grant from the W. Paul and Lucille Caudill Little Foundation to the Sheltowee Environmental Education Coalition.

This video of poaching activity on the Shenandoah River was captured by Doug Jackson. Net fishing in the Shenandoah River is illegal and in the video several people can be observed fishing with nets. Four Virginia conservation enforcement officers converged on the Shenandoah River near Watermelon Park on July 17th for two days of targeted enforcement designed to stem a rash of illegal cast net and spear-gun fishing that has devastated wildlife populations in the area. The "sting" operation resulted in seventeen misdemeanor citations for ten illegal anglers and impoundment of six cast nets. The anglers were alleged to be in possession of over 300 fish and were charged with ten Class 2 misdemeanors and seven Class 3 misdemeanors.

Former amateur skateboarder/editing novice Paul Perla is literally managing to scale the mountainous 3CCD DIGITAL WORLD of the new film industry by copyrighting a smashing twenty minute 8 millimetre VHS titled SATURDAY SCHOOL. This trio is from Seattle, Washington. Autonomadic formed in 2003 and featured one local bass player and two other guys who both grew up in the same county in Western Michigan yet never knew each other until they moved out west. As the story goes, the drummer called the guitar player/vocalist after reading an ad in Seattle's weekly newspaper The Stranger. It all went downhill from there. Autonomadic went on to put out several discs and were featured on a few compilations in both the US and Canada. They toured extensively down the West Coast of the US, the western half of Canada and played gigs in Alaska. "The Camel" is from the band's 2003 disc "Sterilize The Poor in Spirit". This particular track was featured on a Local Chaos compilation as well as a Canadian compilation titled "Give Us a Break Vol. 5" which was released and distributed across Canada by Spawner Records.
