This was quite a bit harder than when I this for Mega Man 2. More bosses take a full 28 hits this time, including the ones with the toughest patterns. Top Man and Magnet Man are the only ones that take 2 damage per hit, and they're the easiest ones. I started with Shadow Man because he's probably the cheapest of the bunch. You never know whether he's going to slide or use his shuriken attack after hopping. If you're at least a half screen away, it's easier to react. If he pushes in close after a shuriken attack, you can slide under him if you're daring. However, this can be very hard if his last hop is low, especially if he follows it with a slide. Your reflexes need to be at their peak to stand a chance, or failing that, you need a bit of luck. Spark Man isn't nearly as bad, but he can still be pretty cheap. If he stops on the platform just left of the center while you're still left of him, there's no way you can dodge his attack. You can try to jump under him when he hops down from the top platform, but there's a chance he'll remain there, and you'll just end up jumping right into him. It's... almost possible to react to this, though. Thankfully, he behaves enough most of the time so that I could kill him. Needle Man is one of the toughest robot masters to perfect in the original series. His pattern isn't at Quick Man's level, but he's twice as durable, which makes him quite a bit more annoying.
